I tried Norton antivirus this afternoon and I did not want the product. I had given them my email to setup the account.

I want my account deleted. I spent almost an hour on a chat session and first they said they could not because of "legal restrictions". I asked for the law. Then they said that "could not delete [my] account from [their] side"; so I asked if they had control of their own database.

Then they said "they were not allowed to delete Norton accounts." They will not delete my account and suggested I check out community.norton.com, which, you guessed it, requires registration. I do not want to be in their database and they are not able to or not willing to delete my account.

They are data-hoarding and with the way the world is today, it is only a matter of time before they get hacked. DO NOT test their trial unless you want to be in their database (and I am sure they sell it to other vendors/companies)!!

Reason of review: i want my account deleted and they cannot or will not do it.

Monetary Loss: $250.

Preferred solution: delete my account.

Norton AntiVirus Cons: Customer services, Lies, Story kept changing.

I used my work email - that was a mistake. It was the time I spent online with them going round & round.

How did you manage to lose $250? You gave them your email address and yes, they will keep it in their files and probably try to sell you something in the future.

The easiest thing to do if you ever are bothered by them is to simply change your email address. But, getting so upset at them having your email address is rather silly.
